As our local wedding and event venue, Hall Place really is a jewel in Bexley’s crown!
Earlier this year we had the pleasure of photographing a golden wedding anniversary lunch for a very special couple. We’ve worked at Hall Place many times, and it’s always a favourite location for pre-wedding shoots. This, however, was our first lunchtime event inside the beautifully restored Tudor Kitchen. What a stunning and historic room it is!
Hall Place is a gorgeous Tudor period house, situated on the banks of the River Cray and owned and run as a wedding and events venue by the London Borough of Bexley. It has wonderful gardens to walk around and plenty of open spaces for couples and families to enjoy. There is also a magnificent great hall with views over a private courtyard.
Hall Place Diamond Wedding Anniversary Lunch
We arrived just as the lunch was finishing, and began by photographing the stunning cake, cake table and room decorations. We photographed the speeches which started soon after lunch, wonderful tributes to a special couple. A card from the Queen was proudly shared with the guests too! It was a gloriously warm afternoon so we then photographed family and friends as they mingled in the private courtyard after lunch. Several guests had travelled from Ireland for the celebration, so we made time for some formal group shots outside too. The staircase to the side of the building made a brilliant vantage point to capture a whole group shot.
A mutual friend, Lisa, of Gorgeous Floral Design, had styled the displays of flowers on the table – and so we made sure to photograph some of her stunning table centres!
It’s lovely to document important family events, and we enjoyed our afternoon enormously.
