PRIVACY POLICY
Who We Are
At Oakhouse Photography, I take your privacy as seriously as I take your portraits. This policy explains how I handle your personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
My goal is to be completely transparent about how your information is collected, used, and protected, so you can focus on enjoying your photography experience.
1. The Data I Collect
To provide my photography services, I collect a variety of information. I act as the “Data Controller” for this information, which includes:
- Contact & Identity: Your name, email address, mobile number, and postal address.
- Booking Details: The date, time, and location of your wedding or photo shoot.
- Payment Information: Processing details for contracts, supply of goods, and services.
- Website Data: I use cookies (small text files) on my website to help the site function correctly and to understand how visitors interact with my content.
Why I collect this: I primarily process this data under the lawful basis of Contract—essentially, I need this information to fulfill my agreement with you, deliver your photos, and manage your booking. I may also use your contact details for direct marketing of my own products, but you can opt out of this at any time.
2. Who I Share Your Data With
I don’t sell your data to third parties. Period. I only share information with trusted partners who help me run my business, such as:
- Cloud Storage & Galleries: To deliver your digital images.
- Professional Labs: If you order physical prints or albums.
- Business Tools: Secure systems for accounting and email.
INote on International Transfers: Some of my partners are based in the USA. I ensure these transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or recognized data privacy frameworks to keep your information safe.
3. Keeping Your Data Secure
I am committed to protecting your information. I use:
- Encryption for personal data.
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology for all online submissions.
- Strict Access Controls to ensure only I can access your private details.
In the highly unlikely event of a security breach, I am committed to notifying the relevant regulatory body within 72 hours and informing you personally if your data was involved.
4. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have significant rights regarding your data. You can ask me to:
- Provide a copy of the data I hold about you.
- Correct any mistakes in your information.
- Delete your data entirely (the “right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict how I use your data or move it to another provider.
I don’t keep your data forever—only as long as is necessary to provide my services, maintain my business records for tax purposes, or as long as you wish to remain a client.
5. Changes To This Policy
Occasionally, I may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or my business. I’ll update the date on this page and, for any major changes, I will reach out to let you know directly.
