We recently photographed the intimate Sevenoaks wedding of Paula & John at Darenth Valley Golf Club, in Shoreham, Kent. Paula and John wanted a small wedding for close family and friends at the golf club. They booked us because they liked our relaxed and unobtrusive documentary wedding photography style.
The Wedding Day
We arrived early at the golf club and initially met John and his best man, Ryan, who is also his son. We captured informal images of them together, along with their guests arrival.
Paula and her bridesmaid and daughter, Charlotte arrived in a wonderful vintage Rover Vanden Plas car . She wore an elegant off-the-shoulder wedding dress which was perfect for the wedding day. It turned out to be one of the hottest days in August! Fortunately, the wedding was late morning and not too hot or uncomfortable for the bride and groom and their guests.
The wedding ceremony took place in the ballroom at the clubhouse, which has a wonderful view overlooking the golf course.
After the wedding ceremony, we went outside to the patio area for the pre-wedding breakfast celebrations with Paula, John and their guests. After shooting a small number of formal group shots, we took Paula and John to a shaded area, adjacent to the golf course, for some portrait shots before they returned to their family and friends to continue their celebrations.
