Back in the summer of 2017 we photographed the wedding of Emma & Daniel at The Manor Gatehouse Dartford.
We first met Emma at a local wedding fair. Not only did she and Daniel book us for their own wedding but they also recommended us to his brother, Paul. Paul was getting married to Hille at Danson House a few months before Emma’s own wedding!
The Manor Gatehouse Dartford
The original Manor House was built between 1541-44 for Henry VIII for his personal use. It was subsequently given to Anne of Cleves as part of his divorce settlement from her. Today, only the Manor Gatehouse remains and it is used by Kent Country Council as a registry office.
At the front of the Manor Gatehouse is a small walled garden and lawn area which is perfect for photographing small groups.
Emma & Daniel’s Wedding
Emma and Daniel were holding their civil wedding at The Manor Gatehouse Dartford before flying off to Ibiza for their wedding celebration.
On the wedding day itself we met with Daniel and his family to capture a few formal and informal photographs before Emma’s arrival.
Emma then arrived with her father in a Mercedes, wearing a summery peach wedding dress. After a few photographs with her father in front of The Manor Gatehouse, we went inside to the Anne of Cleves Room for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the wedding party returned to the front of the building for formal group shots and a few bride and groom portraits. Fortunately, the early evening light was wonderfully soft and we captured some gorgeous images by the old gate into the gardens.
Afterwards, the families walked to The Jafflong Restaurant in Dartford for a celebratory meal. We walked with them through the town centre to the restaurant before leaving them to enjoy their meal.
