I was delighted to photograph Jordan and Kyle’s wedding in 2022, beginning with their ceremony at Woolwich Town Hall and followed by a vibrant reception at One Friendly Place.

Their celebration perfectly combined the grandeur of a historic London town hall with the creativity and character of a contemporary Greenwich venue — an ideal example of how to plan a stylish and personal London wedding.

Woolwich Town Hall Wedding Ceremony

Jordan and Kyle chose the magnificent Victoria Hall at Woolwich Town Hall for their ceremony. This ornate hall, which greets guests upon entering the building, offers striking architectural details and an abundance of natural light from its exceptionally high ceilings — a dream setting for wedding photography.

The grooms stood proudly on the sweeping staircase, with their guests seated below in the grand entrance hall. The elevated position created a dramatic and elegant backdrop, adding a sense of occasion to an already emotional ceremony.

After the vows, we took advantage of time in hand to photograph family group portraits on the staircase. The symmetry and natural light made this a perfect setting for timeless wedding images before we made the short journey to Greenwich for the reception.

Boho Reception at One Friendly Place, Greenwich

The reception was held at One Friendly Place — a unique and versatile London venue regularly used for filming, private events and weddings. Although it was my first time photographing there, it was immediately clear why Jordan and Kyle had chosen it.

The building offers generous open spaces and multiple rooms, each of which the couple had thoughtfully styled to reflect their personalities. From carefully curated décor to relaxed social spaces, every detail contributed to a celebration that felt authentic and joyful.

The informal, welcoming atmosphere created wonderful opportunities for documentary-style wedding photography. As the evening drew in, we headed up to the rooftop to capture relaxed sunset portraits of the grooms with their guests — a highlight of the day and a perfect way to mark the transition into the evening celebrations.

When the dancing began, it was anything but ordinary. Rather than a traditional first dance, Jordan took to the decks, ensuring the dance floor stayed full all night. A heartfelt video message from a friend overseas was played on the big screen, adding another personal and emotional touch to an already unforgettable day.

Jordan and Kyle’s wedding was a brilliant celebration filled with warmth, personality and style. From a grand town hall ceremony to a creative Greenwich reception, their day showcased the very best of a London wedding.
