St John the Evangelist Church in the centre of Bexley village, Kent, has been a beautiful local church that I have always wanted to photograph a wedding at. I was therefore delighted when Megan and Leigh chose me to photograph their special day at the church in early Autumn 2022.
St John the Evangelist Church in Bexley, Kent, is a stunning church with Gothic Revival architecture, tall spire and intricately designed stained-glass windows. This created a breathtaking architectural backdrop for Megan and Leigh’s wedding.
Before the wedding day, I had met with Father Edward Barlow, the vicar of St John’s. We discussed the arrangements for the wedding of Megan & Leigh and the organisation for the photos on the day. Father Edward is one of the nicest vicars I have had the pleasure of meeting. He is also, an avid Doctor Who fan as well!!
Megan arrived in a vintage car with her father. She wore a beautiful wedding dress from With Love Bridal of New Eltham, London. I knew it was going to be a fun wedding when Megan’s father placed a SOLD sign around Megan after getting out of the car. There was lots of laughter from the bridal party!!
Megan and Leigh exchanged vows in front of their family and friends. It was such a wonderful occasion with lots of laughter and joy. The tears started as soon as Leigh saw Megan walking up the aisle for the ceremony!
Here are just a few of the wedding photos taken at St John the Evangelist Church of Megan and Leigh’s special day:
