A Unique Industrial-Chic Wedding at the Shepherd Neame Brewery, Faversham | Abbie & Josh

Abbie and Josh knew they wanted something different for their big day, and they certainly found it. Nestled in the heart of the historic market town of Faversham, The Old Brewery Store at the Shepherd Neame Brewery provided a stunning, industrial-chic backdrop for their Autumn wedding.

As Kent’s oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame offers a sense of history and atmosphere that you simply won’t find anywhere else.

Bridal Prep at The Sun Inn Faversham

The day began just a short walk away at The Sun Inn. This traditional Shepherd Neame public house features a magnificent bridal suite overlooking the bustling Faversham marketplace.

The room was a photographer’s dream, filled with natural light that perfectly illuminated the bridal preparations and detail shots. After some fun moments with her bridesmaids and parents, Abbie and her wedding party made the short, atmospheric walk through the historic town streets to the brewery.

A Historic Ceremony in The Old Brewery Store

The ceremony was held in The Old Brewery Store, a space originally used for hop storage and one of the oldest parts of the brewery.

Photographer’s Note: This is a uniquely atmospheric venue with no natural light, which allows for a very specific, intimate mood. We used professional on-camera flash techniques to ensure every emotion was captured perfectly against the dark, historic wood and industrial textures of the store.

Portraits at Faversham Creek

After the “I dos,” we headed outside to organize the group photographs amidst the character of the brewery buildings. For the couple’s portraits, we took Abbie and Josh for a short walk down to Faversham Creek.

The small estuary inlet provided a tranquil, nautical contrast to the industrial morning. It’s one of my favourite ‘secret spots’ in Faversham for portraits, offering a quiet moment for the newlyweds to reflect before heading back to the Brewery Store to celebrate with their guests for the evening’s celebrations.
