A Stylish Summer Wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall & Bluebird Chelsea
On one of the hottest days of the year, I had the pleasure of being Zoe and Ryan’s Chelsea wedding photographer. Their day was a masterclass in London sophistication, taking in some of the most iconic spots in SW3.
Bridal Prep at Chelsea Harbour Hotel
The day began at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel. This stylish waterfront setting was the perfect backdrop for Zoe’s bridal preparations. With floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of the marina, the light was a dream for capturing those final moments before the ceremony.
A Classic Ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall
The couple chose the world-famous Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King’s Road for their civil ceremony. As a historic registry office that has seen countless celebrity weddings, it offers a sense of prestige and ‘London cool’ that is hard to beat.
After Zoe and Ryan said their vows, they emerged into the sunshine to a shower of confetti on the famous stone steps – a must-have shot for any Chelsea wedding gallery.
The Iconic King’s Road Walk
One of the highlights of the day was the walk from the Town Hall to the reception. We headed down the King’s Roadtowards the Fulham Road, which allowed us to capture some wonderful documentary-style shots of the newlyweds and their bridal party. There is something so uniquely ‘London’ about a bride and groom navigating the chic streets of Chelsea as well-wishers cheer from the cafes.
Reception at Bluebird Chelsea
The celebrations continued at the fabulous Bluebird Chelsea. Known for its Art Deco heritage and exclusive dining rooms, it provided a vibrant and sophisticated atmosphere for the wedding breakfast. Surrounded by family and friends, Zoe and Ryan celebrated their new marriage in the heart of one of London’s most fashionable neighbourhoods.
Photographer’s Tip: The walk between the Town Hall and Bluebird is a fantastic opportunity for candid photography. It’s about 10–15 minutes of pure ‘street style’ gold – just make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the stroll!
