A Musical Summer Wedding at Falconhurst Estate, Markbeech, Kent

There is a reason Falconhurst Estate in Edenbridge is one of our favourite wedding venues in Kent. As recommended photographers for this stunning estate, we always love returning to its sprawling gardens and rustic charm.

Rebecca and James’s summer wedding was particularly special for us. Having already spent time with them during a pre-wedding shoot in Bath, we knew their day would be filled with style, soul, and a fair amount of horsepower!

Bridal Prep in Shirley, Surrey & A Classic Arrival

The day began with relaxed bridal preparations at Rebecca’s family home in Shirley, Croydon. Capturing the quiet, candid moments between Rebecca, her bridesmaids, and her grandparents in the family garden set a beautiful tone for the day.

From there, we headed to St. John’s Church in Shirley. Rebecca made a grand entrance in her father’s Aston Martin, a sleek start to a very stylish day. We captured the ceremony in our signature unobtrusive documentary style, ensuring the focus remained entirely on the couple’s vows.

High-Octane Getaway to Falconhurst Estate

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds swapped the Aston Martin for a vibrant red Ferrari 430. James later admitted they arrived at the reception slightly late because they couldn’t resist taking the car for a “little spin” through the Kent countryside – and who could blame them?

Upon their arrival at Falconhurst Estate, guests were already enjoying a sun-drenched drinks and canapé reception in the beautiful Walled Garden.

Lawn Games, Ice Cream & Brit School Talent

The afternoon moved to the croquet lawn, which was transformed into a festival-style celebration featuring lawn games and an ice-cream cab.

As both Rebecca and James are accomplished musicians and alumni of the prestigious Brit School, the music was a central part of the day. Guests were treated to a live band, which eventually featured sets from the bride and groom themselves! It was a rare and wonderful treat to photograph a couple performing for their own guests.

Evening Magic & Celebrations

The evening transitioned into the wedding breakfast and a series of heartfelt speeches. To keep the energy high before the first dance, the incredibly talented Paul Fowler, Magician entertained the tables with close-up magic, leaving guests in awe before the party officially kicked off at 9:00 PM.
