Louise and Tom's Wedding at The Granary Barns, Newmarket, Suffolk

Newmarket Wedding Photographer | Groom Prep and Second Shooting

This summer we were asked to assist a fellow Guild of Photographers member Liz, with groom preparation and full day attendance for the wedding of Louise and Tom at The Granary Estates, Woodditton, near Newmarket.

We met with Tom, his best man, ushers and parents at The Packhorse Inn, Moulton. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, and there was plenty of time to capture some informal and posed shots in the grounds of the inn itself, and also in the surrounding area. Here are a few images from The Packhorse Inn, prior to heading off to the wedding venue itself.

Once we arrived at the wedding venue, preparations for the wedding ceremony were well underway, and we were able to capture Tom and his entourage meeting and greeting family and friends on their arrival.

It was our first visit to The Granary Barns, which were newly opened for 2013. They are set back from the family farm, and are surrounded by typical Suffolk countryside including established trees, pasture and farmland.  The restoration of the beautiful barn was completed in the spring of 2013 and has been in high demand ever since.

At the ceremony we captured images of Tom waiting for Louise’s arrival, and also we positioned ourselves to the rear of the ceremony room whilst Liz was positioned at the front. This meant that we were able to capture a greater variety of images and angles during the ceremony. After the ceremony itself, we focussed on informal reportage photography for the remainder of the day.

There is no doubt that using two photographers provides much broader coverage, allowing for time to capture both the bride and groom viewpoints during the day. It is also desirable having this extended photography coverage for your wedding album, to fully tell the whole story of the wedding day from beginning to end.
