In January 2018, we had the pleasure of photographing the Sidcup wedding of Becky & Hugo.
We were contacted by Becky to photograph her Sidcup wedding with her partner, Hugo. She was looking for us to photograph bridal preparations at their home followed by the wedding ceremony at their local church, Emmanuel Church in Sidcup. Becky explained that she was 34 weeks pregnant and wanted us to photograph the wedding in a relaxed, documentary style to capture the emotions and details of her day.
The Bridal Preparations
We arrived at Becky’s flat mid-morning to photograph the bridal preparations. We love photographing this part of the day as you can capture candid moments as they happen!
It is also a great time for photographing some of the funniest and most emotional parts of the wedding day. It’s the details which count, even the steaming of dresses to remove any creases!
Emmanuel Church Sidcup Wedding Ceremony
Becky and Hugo’s wedding ceremony was held at Emmanuel Church, a combined Methodist and United Reformed Church.
On our arrival at the church, we met with Hugo and his parents. We were able to photograph some groom portraits and also take photographs with Hugo’s parents before they went into the church to wait for Becky’s arrival.
Becky’s mother, bridesmaids and flower girl arrived at the church in a vintage Austin soft top car soon followed by Becky and her father in a classic silver Rolls Royce.
After capturing some images outside the church we photographed Becky’s arrival.
The planned group shots outside the church were unable to be taken as the rain which had been forecast finally arrived and so we photographed the group shots at the Church alter instead.
Once the group shots had been completed, we left Becky and Hugo to go to their reception with their families to relax and enjoy themselves.
