As a Danson House wedding photographer I absolutely love photographing weddings at Bexley’s stunning Grade 1 listed Palladian villa. The house is set in the beautiful grounds of Danson Park and there is always something magical about photographing a wedding at Danson House. It is my local Registry Office as I am based in Bexley and have photographed many weddings there!

Danson House Wedding Ceremony Rooms

Depending on availability, you will have several wedding ceremony rooms to choose from:

The Dining Room – decorated in romantic golds.

Sir John Boyds Room –  located on the top floor with stunning views over Danson Park for medium sized wedding parties.

The Library – also known as the music room overlooking the green lawns of the park.

The Salon – an octagonal room with sumptuous wall coverings and stylish decoration.

The Johnston Room – an informal room with stunning views, located on the top floor of Danson House for smaller wedding parties.

Information About Wedding Photography At Danson House, Bexleyheath, The English Garden & Danson Park

For anyone wishing to get married at Danson House, here is some information regarding your wedding day photography…

Danson House

  • After your wedding ceremony, up to 10 minutes is permitted for photography on the steps of Danson House. This is usually enough time to photograph the whole of your wedding party and a few photographs of you as a couple. Any additional group photographs will need to be taken away from the steps. Since several weddings may be taking place around the time of your own ceremony (immediately before, at the same time, or immediately after your own ceremony) this time limit needs to be respected.  Therefore it is not possible to request multiple shots directly in front of Danson House.
  • Inside Danson House, the only photographs that are permitted are those inside the ceremony rooms where you are getting married and documentary shots of arrival into and exiting from the ceremony room.

Danson House Grounds

  • No confetti throwing is permitted in the grounds of Danson House or within The English Garden or Danson Park. However, if you would like confetti photographs, we recommend you arrange this at your wedding reception location.
  • Drone usage is not permitted around Danson House or the surrounding park.

English Garden and Danson Park Permits

  • Permits for wedding photography within The English Garden and Danson Park are required. You can obtain these permits directly from the Bexley Council’s Parks Department – please click here for more details. Please ensure you have obtained this before your wedding day.
  • You may be asked to provide The Parks Department with a copy of the photographer’s Public Liability insurance certificate. We are more than happy to provide this, once your booking is confirmed, to enable you to obtain the permit.
