It was with real excitement that we returned from our break at Lake Annecy this August, to prepare for the South Lodge Hotel wedding of Beccie and David. We had met them on a few occasions previously and had our pre-wedding meeting with them at their beautiful wedding venue a few weeks previously. We’d even enjoyed following Beccie’s Twitter countdown to her special day!
South Lodge Hotel Horsham
Beautifully set in 93 acres of Sussex parkland with panoramic views of the South downs, South Lodge is an idyllic location for an unforgettable wedding celebration. South Lodge Hotel in Horsham is part of the Exclusive Hotels and Venues group. Beccie and David chose an intimate room on the first floor for their ceremony. It had wonderful views across the South Downs. For their wedding reception they used the Gladstone room, a gorgeous banqueting room with triple aspect windows, high ceiling and beautiful chandeliers.
The Wedding Day
We arrived early on the day of the wedding, and initially spent some time getting detail shots of the Gladstone room and photographing guests as they arrived. After speaking with the Registrar, we photographed Beccie’s arrival and the wedding ceremony itself. Beccie was given away by her proud son, Max.
The wedding ceremony was a wonderful and very emotional occasion, witnessed by close friends and family. A rather special canine visitor arrived all the way from France too! After the ceremony we captured some informal group shots and some documentary style shots of guests enjoying themselves and chatting to the happy couple. We then took some confetti shots on the terrace outside the Gladstone room. This was a lovely outdoor space for their guests to enjoy the sunshine and terrace views!
After drinks and canapés, we took some photos of Beccie and David entering the Gladstone room for their wedding breakfast. We then left to allow them to enjoy the rest of the day with family and friends.
Wedding Suppliers
Finally, a word about their wedding suppliers! The timings and organisation of the day were ably managed by their toastmaster, Marc Kent. Beccie’s flowers were by the super talented Fleurs of Horsham, and cake by Raspberry Ribbon Cakes – wonderful designs by both!
