On Good Friday this year we had the pleasure of being wedding photographers at the Hertfordshire wedding of Alisha and Tom at Shenley Cricket Centre.
We had met Alisha and Tom last year through Alisha’s cousin, Ashleigh, who is a newborn, children and family photographer and fellow member of The Guild of Photographers. Alisha and Tom were looking for a photographer to capture their wedding day in a very natural, relaxed style but also wanted some formal images, such as family group shots.
Back in the Autumn, we photographed their pre-wedding photo shoot at Hall Place in Bexley, which has featured on one of our previous blogs.
Tom and Alisha had designed and decorated the interior of the wedding venue themselves and this featured string lighting on the canopy and around the pillars, a sweet cart and a photo booth. Flowers for the wedding day were designed and provided by the wonderful florist, Steph of Belle Fleur Floral Design, in Kent.
Tom and his best man arrived at Shenley Cricket Centre quite early and guests soon began arriving.
After capturing images of the arrivals, it was time for Tom and party to enter the main ceremony room to await the arrival of Alisha, her father, maid-of-honour, bridesmaids, flower girls and page boy.
Alisha’s wedding party arrived and, after a few photographs, entered the building to await the bride’s arrival. Alisha and her father arrived in a vintage Beaufort car and Alisha looked very elegant in her wedding dress. After taking photographs of their arrival, we left to enter the ceremony room to await Alisha’s entrance.
The ceremony itself was a wonderful occasion and with the many family and friends present, both it and the wedding reception was filled with joy, laughter and a few tears!
We were lucky enough to have wonderful golden light in the evening to photograph the formal (and fun!) group shots and everyone had a fantastic evening filled with music and dancing.
