We recently photographed an independent celebrant, the lovely Katie Keen of True Blue Ceremonies, for our 52 Portraits project. We arranged to meet Katie at one of the venues she regularly visits, The Swan at West Malling. The Swan were kind enough to let us shoot in their upstairs function areas.
About Katie Keen of True Blue Ceremonies
Katie is a former registrar at Kent County Council but is now an independent celebrant holding wedding, blessing and renewal of vows ceremonies. Katie really enjoys getting to know the couples before the ceremony itself. She writes and performs the ceremonies for couples wishing to celebrate their relationship, and tailors this to suit individual couples. Getting married abroad is the preferred option for many couples, who then hold an English style ceremony on their return to the UK. Others plan a multi-faith ceremony once the legalities have been finalised. Whatever your plans, Katie will help and guide you throughout the entire process giving you the benefit of her experience and knowledge.
Katie also conducts baby naming ceremonies throughout Kent and beyond. Private homes, gardens and hotels are particularly popular venues for these ceremonies. They are a perfect non-reglious way to celebrate the naming of a child in the presence of a wide selection of family or friends.
Katie was a great subject for our photo shoot, and we look forward to working with her in the future.
